Three Skyway 5th grade girls are being honored for their entries in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) Mission 18 Mission Patch Design Contest.
I am so proud of our 5th grade Comets and Mrs. Jami Seabolt. All Skyway students in 5th grade submitted designs for the SSEP Mission 18, which will travel to the to the International Space Station. UCCS sponsored this contest, with one of the project goals being to engage our community. We are all so pleased to announce that Zoey Lane, Ariyah Schrimsher and Evelyn Jacobs had patch designs that were chosen as one of the top 13 designs for the SSEP Mission 18, K-6 Mission Patch Design Contest!
Thank you to Mrs. Seabolt for continuing to spark curiosity about Space and Science in our Comets! Jami is passionate about inspiring students to ask questions and find answers about their world, especially as it relates to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Zoey’ Lane's design is the runner up out of 348 submissions! Her design will be made into stickers and be used to promote next year’s SSEP Mission 18 Mission Patch Contest. Way to go Skyway Comets!

A busy morning of teaching and learning for our Skyway Comets!







Rainbow Team’s Ocean Fair for Skyway’s 1st and 2nd grade is the culminating celebration of 4 weeks of lessons, research, presentations and a field trip to the Denver Aquarium to learn about ocean creatures, zones, geography, human-impact, conservation and protection.










This afternoon was the Science Olympiad bottle rockets competition. 🚀💫
5th grade Comets, Jack Dill and Liam Brown, won FIRST place!! They were up against several teams from the other elementary schools, but their bottle rocket design prevailed as the rocket that had the most time in the air.
Hadley Jamieson and Freddy Wills did a great job as well with their rocket.
